Keeping up with the Janes

Have you ever had a girlfriend who is super nice to you sometimes, and then super dismissive to you other times, especially when other girlfriends are around? Or maybe you've experienced the "three's a crowd" behavior, where three girls get together and leave one of the women out? "Mean girls" is one of the sociological research areas I've been collecting data on since I started Redwood Women's Foundation a couple of years ago. Much of the research surrounding this behavior tends to be associated with women being competitive, feeling insecure, having limited communication skills, and not having the capacity to engage in close knit group friendships without feeling socially awkward. Many people would suggest not being friends with women who behave this way.... but I disagree. I feel it's important to discuss these behaviors so that we can start changing the internal dynamic between women that perpetuates this behavior. Much of my writing focuses on life in The Emerald Triangle and the internal dynamic of life among the MariJanes. The Emerald Triangle is a rural paradise along the North Coast among the Redwoods, and is known as the largest Cannabis Community in the world........
